RELIEFS

Ceramic reliefs occupy the space between two- and three-dimensional art, with the clay mounted on the wall. In creating these works, I am especially attentive to shape and the outer edges of the form. Some reliefs are approached like paintings, while others involve physically building up the clay to create depth and dimension. The use of negative space adds drama and tension to the work. Exploring the possibilities of relief remains an ongoing focus of my practice.
